About Us
We’ve been proudly breeding British Shorthairs for many years, with a focus on the classic, traditional colours: Blue, Cream, Black, Red, and Tortoiseshell. Our goal has always been to help move the breed forward, while staying true to the much-loved “teddy bear” look that makes British Shorthairs so special.
When we exhibit our cats, they’re judged against the official Standard of Points – looking at things like conformation, type, coat quality, and eye colour. With so many passionate breeders across the UK, competition can be tough, but it also keeps us striving to be the best we can.
I’m a member of several breed clubs and societies, and I currently serve as a committee member for both the Southern British Shorthair and Midland Counties Cat Clubs.
For us, temperament and health are absolutely key. We’ve worked closely with our trusted veterinary team for over 25 years – navigating both the tricky moments and the joyful ones together. They know our cats inside and out, and we’re incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and expertise with the breed.
Our queens and kittens live with us in our family home, with access to a safe and spacious Catio where they can enjoy fresh air, exercise, and a bit of bird watching! Our stud has his own large, purpose-built cattery, which includes CCTV monitoring for added security.
Caring for our stud cat involves a careful balance of health, behaviour, and breeding management. With tools like the Suprelorin implant, we now have more flexibility in managing our stud's reproductive life while prioritising his welfare.
We feed a carefully balanced diet made up of local meat, cooked fish, and high-quality dry biscuits.
This varied nutrition helps our cats develop strong muscle tone and grow slowly into the impressive, solid adults British Shorthairs are known for.
What else...
I’m always happy to support and encourage anyone who’s interested in getting involved with British Shorthairs — whether you’re looking for a wonderful pet companion or thinking about taking your first steps into showing or even breeding.
As I mentioned above, my aim is to help progress and protect this beautiful breed, and that means working together with others who share the same love and respect for these cats.
Whether you’re just starting out or have questions along the way, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned and point you in the right direction.
Stay in touch
We are always genuinely appreciative of owners who stay in touch, sharing photographs and updates as their kittens grow. It’s a joy to see them thrive in their new homes and to hear about their personalities and adventures.
We believe in offering lifetime support and are always available should you have any questions or need advice at any stage. Our commitment to our cats — and their owners — doesn’t end when they leave us; it’s ongoing.
